This page will focus on outdoor gardens inspired by my hometown, Ventura California. Growing up here, I have seen a lot of changes, some good, some challenging. Downtown Ventura is certainly more charming than it was 20 years ago. There are more interesting shops that feature local artisans, more farmer’s markets, and plenty of microbrews and wine tasting (yay!). There’s also less strawberry fields and more congestion, traffic, and a debilitating drought. This is why all of the projects and ideas here will gravitate toward drought tolerant, a coastal climate (Zone 10a), and local pottery. I also like to find interesting ways to reuse or repurpose containers, or embellish patios (such as this macramé shown here).
